I’m Ewan Paterson, a London-based artist working in oil and pencil. I love to create images that jump off the canvas. Work that really captures what is special about a person or a place. A very nice art critic described my work as realism that fuses pop art boldness with arresting graphic composition.
PRICES/PROCESS
I charge by the day. £400 per day for drawings. £550 per day for oils. An A3 size pencil portrait takes normally a day (for example ‘18-year old James’ in my work section). An A3 oil portrait normally a day and a half (for example ‘The Lady with Emerald Eyes’ and ‘James’ in my work section) .
More complex portraits and detailed clothes can take longer.
I work from photographs, that I take in a photo session. Then, once the image is chosen and size and medium decided on, I can give an exact quote.
