About

Paintings/Art

I love to create striking images that jump off the page. Work that really captures what’s special about a person or a place.

My paintings and drawings are often described as realism that fuses pop art boldness with strong graphic composition.

I take commissions in oil, ink and pencil drawings.

I work from photographs and charge a day rate.

Message me on instagram at @ewangpaterson if you’d like to know more about my work and commissions.

Advertising career.

As an advertising creative my love was creating visually strong and memorable ideas.

Ideas that people would talk about and want to put up on their walls.

My very first big poster campaign ‘Power is nothing without control’ for Pirelli featured Carl Lewis in Red High Heels and won every award going. Thanks to the excellent team I was lucky to be part of - including the brilliant photographer Annie Leibovitz.

‘The Samsung School of Rugby and Rio’, starring Jack Whitehall, helped Samsung out sell Apple.

‘Making London Simple’ for London Transport won a D&AD Pencil for its launch poster ‘Eros’. It was a hugely successful campaign and was still selling bus tickets and winning awards many years later.

‘Make the most of Now’, was the first global campaign for Vodafone and also started with a D&AD winning ad, ‘Mayfly’.

Live the Action, was a pan-European campaign for bwin, the betting brand. ‘The Race’ and ‘Who Stole the Cup?’ were the first ad campaigns EVER created that viewers could actually bet on.

Advertising awards:

Thanks to working with brilliant people and great brands I have won over 40 Cannes Lions and have over 100 pieces of work selected in D&AD including 6 Yellow Pencils and 17 Yellow Pencil nominations.
